Hotpink555 asked:
I live in the UK and my partner and I would like to go to Tuscany this summer. We want to book a private, secluded and good quality villa which isn’t near or attached to any other houses or apartments, but I don’t know which are the most reputable and well known agents to book with. I assume that booking online is cheaper than using a high street travel agent, but any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

I’m looking to travel in 2009, going to Tuscany. I assume Rome would be the cheapest to fly into, but Florence would be closer to where I want to be.

Our friends purchased tickets 2 weeks ago and 1.5 months ago, and, respectively, paid $700 and $600… we now can’t find anything near there. Is there a trick or a secret to this? Thanks all~

I don’t want to stay at a hostel, but I’m thinking of some sort of “alternative” (cheap) accommodation situation, but I don’t want to end up renting a room in a ghetto, or from someone who’s going to rip me off, or whatever. Maybe a B&B, staying with a family, etc.
Any suggestions? I’ll probably be going to Rome or perhaps Tuscany (Lucca in particular). Any other suggestions would help too, since I’ve never been there! I’m an American guy travelling alone.

i’m trying to get to italy (rome or tuscany but anywhere would be fine) Greece, or England (preferably london) somtime this summer. I’m on a budget so does anyone know of cheap accommodations/flights/travel packages? i’m looking for a more typical local expierence, not something i could read about in a tourist book. Any ideas???
